Intermediate Christmas Concert Information

Dear Gr. 4/5/6 parents & guardians,

Students are working hard in rehearsals to prepare a fantastic Christmas concert! There will be a mix of singing and instruments, and we are excited to share the result of their efforts.

You are invited to attend this performance that celebrates Christ’s birth and other elements of the holidays.

  • Thursday Dec. 11
  • 1:30pm & 7:00pm
  • New Westminster Christian Reformed Church (across from elementary school

Your child must participate in both performances so please ensure they are present. It is a very significant part of their musical experience and part of the curriculum. If you have a notable conflict and are planning for your child’s absence at one or both performances, email me directly with your child’s name, class, and the reason they cannot attend.

Arrival
Afternoon: church doors open at 1:00pm (starts at 1:30pm).
Evening: church doors open at 6:30pm (starts at 7:00pm).

Students should arrive at 6:30pm at the church, and will enter through the doors to the Fellowship Hall, directed by their teachers.

We anticipate many people attending the evening performance, so if you can attend the afternoon program, we encourage you to leave space for other family and friends in the evening. Consider carpooling in the evening.

Dismissal
Students may be dismissed early Thursday afternoon, after the performance, if the parent comes to their classroom. Students will be picked up in designated rooms at the church after the evening performance.

Attire
Students should wear clothes that are appropriate for a performance. They may wear something special but you do not need to purchase a new outfit. Please do not have students in T-shirts/sweaters with words or logos. If your child would like to match the Christmas theme, they can do that by wearing any combination of white/red/green on top and black bottoms. No shoes or clothes that light up. No hats, reindeer antlers, elf ears, etc.

Other Notes
We are so grateful for all who attend these performances in support of the students who have worked very hard! As our audience, please keep the following in mind…

  • Do NOT take photos or videos. Enjoy the performance by watching and listening. We have designated people taking photos and video.
  • Families must be sitting together, including high school students.
  • Ask your child about his/her experience in rehearsals and performing.
  • Sit quietly during performance moments to respect the focus of performers.
  • Join us in singing the Christmas carols in the transitions.
  • In case of snow or other unforeseen circumstances, parents will get an email if the concerts are delayed or cancelled.

Sincerely,

Mr. Curtis Wiens
