Secondary Courses

John Knox Christian High School offers an enriched curriculum which meets or exceeds the BC Ministry of Education graduation requirements. Our rigorous academic, fine arts, applied skills, and athletic programs have a focus on enrichment and authentic personalized learning. Our course offerings have students' university or college readiness in mind. Courses will be offered as either linear (full-time); semester (half-year); or term (third of the year).

Note: The courses listed below may be adjusted over the coming months as staff and enrolment are finalized.

All Grade 7, 8, and 9 students are required to take courses from the following content areas:

Christian Studies
Language Arts
Mathematics
Physical and Health Education
Science
Social Studies
Students must select one elective language: French, Mandarin, OR Spanish

Students will also rotate through a sampling of elective courses. Specific courses may vary year to year, but most often include:

Applied Design, Skills and Technology (ADST)
Band
Drama
Foods
Leadership
Visual Arts

Students may also add Choir and/or Band 9, which take place outside the regular timetable.
