Service & Leadership
LOCAL IMPACT TRIPS
Close to home, all Grade 11 students participate in a week-long Local Impact Trip focused on exploring social issues and poverty in the Vancouver Lower Mainland. During PEAK (Program of Extended Activities of the Kingdom) Week, students engage with local ministries and Christian organizations, making a tangible impact through hands-on service.
The students are welcomed to volunteer in various settings—working with children, individuals experiencing homelessness or financial hardship, the elderly, and in environmental stewardship. In their Christian Studies 11 classes, students explore the social crises affecting our communities, are encouraged to pray over these issues, and reflect deeply on how they can be part of meaningful change.
Throughout PEAK Week, the Local Impact Trip students are encouraged to become comfortable in leading worship, and/or sharing their personal testimonies, bringing Jesus into their conversations, and/or praying for others; skills for actively living out their faith in service and compassion.
Cross-Cultural service Trips
Students in Grades 10, 11 and 12 have the opportunity to take part in cross-cultural outreach trips designed to foster spiritual growth, service, and global awareness. These experiences help students:
- Develop teamwork skills
- Gain first-hand exposure to and serve within a different culture
- Learn stewardship of time, resources, and abilities
- Understand what it means to be a servant of Christ
International trips may include destinations in Asia, Central and South America, Africa, and in historical Biblical locations, where students immerse themselves in new cultures and serve local communities.
These trips are more than just service projects—they’re opportunities for spiritual and personal transformation. Through participating and leading prayer, devotions, Bible studies, and meaningful work, students grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and build deeper connections with their peers.
Our school goes beyond traditional short-term mission models. Through pre- and post-trip advisory sessions surrounding PEAK Week, students reflect on the global impact of their actions and the responsibility that comes with privilege. Ultimately, our goal is for each student to experience lasting growth in faith and character through these unique outreach opportunities.
