Dear JKCS parents,
Our school year is off to a great start and we have numerous parents and staff members helping to ensure that you and your child(ren) are safe when you come to school every day.
We are thankful that so many neighbours and parents are driving and walking considerately and safely around our school. However, there is an urgent need for at least two more parent volunteers every day to wear a safety vest and help ensure safety on 12th Ave. around the rear entrance of the elementary school. Some of our staff members and parents have voiced serious concerns about speeding in the school zone and we have particularly heavy traffic there recently due to construction in the area.
Many parents drop off high school students by about 8:10am for the school bus shuttle. Perhaps you are willing to stay for as little as 15-20 minutes on day each week to advocate for traffic safety.
Please contact Mrs.Visser if you are willing to help: rvisser@johnknoxbc.org
Thank you!
David Ward, VP
