JKCS internal scholarships are a way to bless and encourage our exceptional grade 12 graduates as they continue their education and plan for the future. Would you or your business like to create and contribute towards a JKCS scholarship? Here is some information to get you started!
• How much are scholarships usually valued at? Typically, they are between $250 and $2000 per year
• How many years will the scholarship be offered for?
Many scholarship commitments are between 2 and 5 years
• Will I get a tax receipt?
Yes! You will receive a tax receipt for the full value of your scholar
ship donation. Donations can be made by cheque, cash, PAP, or
online at johnknoxbc.org/donate/
• How does a student apply for my scholarship?
Together, we will discuss specific criteria that a student applicant will be required to fulfill. This can include essays, projects, or simply admittance into a particular school or program.
• Who chooses which student receives the scholarship?
A scholarship committee comprised of secondary teachers and parents carefully reviews the criteria and applications and decides as a team who receives each scholarship
• Will I know which student receives my scholarship?
Yes, you will be invited to the convocation ceremony
• What kinds of scholarships are you looking for?
Any area you choose! Leadership, service, academic achievement, athletics, the arts, etc. It can also go to a student who is planning on studying in a specific area such as trades, ministry, engineering, business, etc. Or, you can leave it up to the school.
• Will the scholarship have my name on it?
It’s up to you! You may want your scholar ship in memory of a loved one, in your name or business name, or you may choose to be anonymous.
