Dear Secondary Parents,
The week of January 25 – 28 is fast approaching marking the end of Term 2/Semester 1. We would like to keep you up to date on a few details regarding transportation and potential snow days during this week.
Senior Students (Grades 10 – 12)
Transportation:
Students in Grades 10 to 12 must be at school only on the days when they have Provincial Assessments, School Exams, Mock Job Interviews and Presentations.
Students must leave the secondary campus as soon as they finish their Provincial Assessments, School Exams, Mock Job Interviews and Presentations.
Students must be in uniform for their Provincial Assessments and School Exams. Individual teachers will inform students about the dress code for Presentations and Mock Job Interviews.
The school buses will run at the usual time in the morning.
There will be no school bus at 12 noon when Provincial Assessments and School Exams are completed. Students need to make their own arrangements to go home.
Potential Snow Days:
In the event that it snows next week and JKCS calls a snow day (this would be posted on our website) Grade 10s taking the Literacy Assessment (10A and 10B) and Numeracy Assessment (10B) will be rescheduled for April 13 and 14, 2021.
All other Semester 1 final exams will be rescheduled to later in the week (Wednesday, January 27 and Thursday, January 28, 2021).
Mock Interviews (12A) will be rescheduled for Thursday, January 28 and Friday, January 29, 2021.
Junior Students (Grades 7 – 9)
The week of January 25 – 28 is a normal school week with no changes in schedule or classes, unless JKCS calls a snow day. Students need to be in uniform for this week. The school buses will run at the usual time in the morning and afternoon.
Thank you for your attention to these details. We wish all of our students a positive and successful end to Term 2/Semester 1.
