Secondary Field Trip Reflection

ArushaTimes News

“I always thought poetry was boring, didn’t make sense half the time and when it did the poems weren’t usually topics I cared about. On this field trip, I was reminded that there are many different types of poetry, not just the kinds that we learn in school. Some more modern poets write works on topics that I can relate to and that I am more interested in. I think that I shouldn’t be so quick to judge poetry and that I may find some poets that I like. I see poetry more like art now. It is subjective, just because one person doesn’t like a piece of art doesn’t mean that everyone won’t.”
