Psalm 139:11-12
“If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.”
In the gospels, Jesus invited his disciples to come away with him from time to time to rest, to rejuvenate, and to be restored. As a group of followers they often faced the crowds and noise surrounding and pushing up against Jesus. Busy-ness was not uncommon for Peter and James and Mary and Martha. As we enter the time of year we typically call Spring Break, may you and your family find time to go away for a while with Jesus, to rest, rejuvenate, and to be restored. The news around is full of injurious sound. It may be difficult for us to stop, to listen, and to rest. The darkness often seems to have louder ‘noise’ than light does. But that is not the case in scripture. Light wins. May each of you find tremendous hope, joy, strength and light this break.
