Love Your Neighbour Fundraising Concert for Erin Kim

Tim ChanTimes News, Upcoming Events

Join us for an evening of wonderful music to raise money for Erin’s rehabilitation therapies on Saturday, June 15th at 6pm in the Elementary Gym at John Knox Christian School.

Erin is Jay Kim’s daughter (John Knox high school teacher). She was a typical, yet active and independent three-year- old girl who enjoyed a variety of activities. It was just last December that Erin became ill with acute stomach flu one day, and the next thing her body became completely paralyzed. She was rushed to the BC Children’s Hospital and diagnosed with a rare auto-immune syndrome, Guillain Barre Syndrome. After over a month of intense treatments at the BC Children’s Hospital, Erin was transferred to the Sunny Hill Children’s Hospital in January in order to focus on rehabilitation.

As she is no longer supported by the public health care system, the family’s financial burden has been overwhelming for Erin’s family. Erin believes she can walk again soon and she has been asking God to allow her to regain her mobility every day. The recovery progress has been a slow and frustrating one, but God is faithful, and we have no doubt that He will make her walk her again!

A Go Fund Me campaign has been started for those that would like to contribute a donation to help Erin:
