It’s back! The 15th annual Knox Walk Walk-a-thon! You might be a little confused – how we will we go for a 5km walk with 800 people when we’re social distancing? This year it will look a little different, but one thing will remain the same: it will be an awesome time for us to get outside and enjoy God’s creation while supporting our school and community. A detailed letter will be sent home next week, but here are a few details to get started:

What is the Knox Walk? In a typical year, students, staff and parents don red tshirts and go for a 5km walk as a school. This year, we will go for a 5km walk with our families in our own neighbourhoods!
Why do we do the Knox Walk? To raise money for our school. This year a portion of the funds raised will support tuition relief.
Do we get a fundraising envelope? No! For the first time ever, it’s all happening online! Each student will create a simple online fundraising page and ask family and friends to sponsor their walk. Students are challenged to raise $100 each.
Are there any prizes? Yes! There are prizes in different age categories for the students who raise the most money and the students who get the greatest number of sponsors. There are also four special draws this year! Students in Kindergarten – Grade 6 who raise $100 or more are entered in a draw to win one of two huge Lego sets (chosen especially for the winners).
Students in Grade 7 – 12 who raise $100 or more are entered in a draw to win one of two sets of AirPods!
How do I get started? Next week, you’ll be emailed instructions on how to set up your online fundraising page along with great ideas about how to raise money (I’ll bet your grandma’s garden needs weeding!).
“See” you on the Walk!
