Fostering Meaningful Relationships

Fera Gunawan Times News

One of life’s most beautiful gifts, our children. Becoming a mom to my incredible TWINS this past year was by far the most exciting, yet difficult gift the Lord could have given me. Parenting comes with the responsibility to give selflessly, to love unconditionally, and to challenge growth all in one. Isaiah 58:11 says, “The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring.” Living out this verse by faith has sustained me in this beautifully hard transition of becoming a mom.
I have taken it with me daily in the steady stream of student meetings. Your children, my purpose – to see them, to know them, to love them, and to challenge them.
To see them in the eyes of Jesus. See them thrive, succeed and push through their comfort zones in a variety of ways. To see them in their academic and, at times, social struggles. To know them in their passions, their aspirations, their weaknesses and their strengths. To know what they like to eat for lunch, who they admire most, and what their favourite hobby is. To love them exactly as they are for who they are is God’s prized creation. To love them with the never-ending grace that Jesus so freely gives, regardless of their shortcomings. And to challenge them to become ALL that God has called them to be and show them that with Christ ALL things are possible.
It is an honour, a privilege, to serve alongside such a willing community to serve your children. I am proud to empower and support teachers and staff who go above and beyond to see, to know, to love, and to challenge your children.
Thank you for trusting us with your gifts from God.
“And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast.” 1 Peter 5:10.
