…Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord,
always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Working at both JKCS campuses is a blessing in many ways. One of those blessings is the opportunity to see, hear, or participate in the many activities happening every day. Music is a good example. Health regulations shifted a little in the summer allowing schools to open up their music programs in ways we have not had available to us in the past year. Walking through the halls and pausing to listen to the music programs on both campuses has been such a delight. Rosa Ononeze works with our grade six band program and as it happens, I park directly under the music room windows! This morning I heard the band sounding forth, students learning to manipulate keys and strings and mouthpieces to create music in unified sound. At the secondary campus and walking through the commons (I love playing foosball), the beautiful sounds from the music room; concert bands, choirs, vocal ensembles can be heard drifting through the corridor. As students spilled out from the room, there was laughter, excitement – a pleasure to be back to music once again. We have a year ahead of us, open to the beauty of music and all that our wonderful students will make together under the guidance of our professional staff. Thank God.
