Principal’s Note – Competency Is At Our Core: Faithful is Who We Are.

Fera Gunawan Times News

Friday; your children, our students were at home.

Our teachers were learning to support learning within a framework of worship.

The day started with devotions and songs of praise, while the rest of the day was praiseworthy!

Immersing in a new role, that of Director of Curriculum, Wendy Perttula spent time with the secondary teachers followed by the same presentation and engagement with the elementary teachers working on curriculum competencies.

At the same times but at opposite sites, David Ward focussed his competency specialty on classroom management strategies and collegial mentorship practices.

On October 25, a few secondary teachers will be attending Provincial Pro-D conferences while the remaining teachers of the secondary will be exploring further assessment approaches with Wendy while David will be administering a regular day at the elementary.

Prayer support, corporate worship, peer mentorship and the delivery of well designed core competencies are all strong underpinnings of our John Knox K – 12 community.

John Knox Christian School has a well grounded tradition of supporting teachers and staff very well so that they are enabled to offer the best learning experience possible nestled in the foundations of our Christian faith.

“Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice” (Philippians 4:9a)
