Next week (November 22 and 24) all grade 6 and 7 students will spend two days learning about design, skills, and tools in one of the following areas: textiles, woodworking, power/engines, coding/robotics, bookmaking, foods, and video/media arts. The group leaders are gathering materials and planning exciting learning activities for these students.
In the Textiles Module, students will be sewing small cloth bags and preparing toiletry kits for the Outreach Resource Centre with the Society to End Homelessness. Each Thursday, about 100-120 people come to Southside Community Church to access a lunch, donated clothes, and toiletry items. Mrs. DeWith is collecting mini toiletry items (the ones from hotels or travel size) to make kits for those without a home. Do you have any to donate? Mrs. DeWith will have a box in her grade 7 classroom to collect these toiletry items. Thank you!
