Counsellor’s Corner

Fera Gunawan Times News

Dear John Knox Christian School families,
First and foremost, welcome to a brand new (and most definitely incredibly different) school year! We imagine that you all are in a similar state as we are: excited, nervous, unsure of the future and how the school year will pan out, etc. However, with so much uncertainty and chaos in the world (which even extends beyond COVID itself), there is one thing we can be certain of: God’s got it, as we are reminded in 1 Peter 5:7 when it is written to cast
“all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.”

As a counselling team, we wanted to reach out and express that we are here for you and your children, and just like how classes are going to look different, counselling will look a bit different as well. We will continue to offer online counselling services as have been provided over the past few months. However, in-person sessions will also be offered with the appropriate health and safety procedures put in place. We recognize that being face-to-face is something that many of us have missed deeply throughout COVID, and we want to be able to meet this human need to the best of our abilities and in the safest manner possible.

We encourage you to reach out either to the individual counsellor your child has seen if you have already utilized our counselling services, or if this is not the case, contact our counselling administration (email address below). Please note that not all counsellors on the team are currently offering in-person sessions at this time, and therefore, if you desire in-person counselling, your child’s counsellor may change for the time being.
We look forward to walking alongside you and your families during this new school year, and we extend our thoughts and prayers towards you all!
Sincerely,
The JKCS Counselling Team
