Gauss Math Competition

ArushaTimes News

Congratulations to all of the grade seven and grade eight students who had the opportunity to develop their mathematical problem solving abilities by participating in the Gauss Mathematics Contests (one exam for grade sevens and one exam for grade eights). The Gauss competition is an achievement of the University of Waterloo’s Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing (CEMC). Test questions are based on curriculum common to all Canadian provinces. This year, two elementary students from grade five and grade six also elected to participate in the grade seven competition. In our school, Harry Z. (grade five) and Nathan T. (grade seven) both achieved the top mark in the Grade 7 Gauss contest, and Nicole L. achieved the top mark in the Grade 8 Gauss contest.
