Creative Student Fundraising
The Acacia Project and the Knox Walk
The Acacia Project invites you to do a neighbourhood clean up while on your Knox Walk! The Acacia Project is a student initiative focused on creation care and health in children. To learn more please watch this introductory video: https://youtu.be/gAK9wTjrBFY. With any neighbourhood clean-up, we encourage a variety of safety measures, including the use of tongs to pick up garbage, gloves, study collection bags, and adult supervision of children. Thanks to The Acacia Project founders, Filbert W. (10B) , Emily X. (11A), Christie C. (11A), for inspiring us all to care for God’s creation!
Supporting John Knox and the UGM
Work has already begun on our two outdoor projects! At the elementary campus, garden boxes with seating have been installed along the edge of the field. The secondary campus rooftop construction has also started, with foundations for the sports courts installed this past week. Your donations help keep John Knox in a firm financial position as we work together to make sure our campuses support learning both inside and outside!
The Union Gospel Mission (UGM) is focused on helping individuals and families right in our own neighbourhood. Their mission states, “UGM is determined to restore the God-given dignity of people by sharing and demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ, providing without discrimination:
– Meals, shelter, outreach and chaplaincy services that relieve suffering and renew hope
– Life recovery programs that offer freedom from addictive lifestyles
– Education and job preparation that equip for successful living
– Affordable housing that fosters community and personal contribution
– Preventative programs that build healthy families”
We are pleased to once again support our local New Westminster branch through the Knox Walk.
All donations to John Knox and the Knox Walk are eligible for a tax receipt for their full value. Thank you for supporting John Knox!
